Behind Arven

Arven is a small, independent fly line brand. We design our lines in Spain.

How we work

We study tapers and measure lines to understand how their design affects the cast. We also research the materials and manufacturing technologies available, to choose the most suitable construction for each model, from the core to the coating and finish.

We have a team of anglers who test the prototypes and help us improve them.

We share our progress in Inside Arven.

Who is behind it

I’m Arturo Tabuyo, a fly angler and the founder of Arven. I don’t come from the industry, and there’s no big brand behind us. Arven started with a question, why some lines perform better than others, and has continued through many hours measuring tapers, simulating casts and testing prototypes with other anglers.

I write the guides and the development diary, and I answer every email personally: arturo@arvenflylines.com.
